How To Wrap Chocolate; we take you on a journey into our chocolate wrapping process
Updated: 01 October 2024
At Lareka, we are incredibly proud of our knowledge, skill and experience in wrapping processes. For the development of our own chocolate wrapping machines, we harnessed our experience in overhauling various wrapping machines for the confectionery industry to distinguish ourselves in terms of quality. In our segment, we are currently the global market leader in wrapping machines for a high mix of products in low volumes. In our collaborations with our customers, they are always key. We supplement our customers’ passion for chocolate with our knowledge of machines and packaging.
However, many of our customers do not realise what is involved in designing and building a wrapping machine which can wrap your bar with your chosen material in precisely the way you want. We have learned that the art of wrapping is just as much about precision and innovation as about protecting the quality of the product. We want to share this knowledge with the world. How will we do that? Our own YouTube series!
In this series, we will explain what to consider when selecting your wrapping material, the relationship between manual and machine wrapping and the requirements of a bar to achieve the best machine-wrapped results. We will also look at the folding principles of our own machines. Hopefully, we will be able to surprise people who think that one folded corner is equivalent to one folding movement. To achieve the perfectly wrapped chocolate bar, three folds are required at each corner, making twelve folds in total which need to be performed in one go for the four corners of the chocolate bar. Add the fact that the inner and outer material is often folded at the same time, that means that our machines can perform 24 folding movements with two different wrapping materials at the same time!
We want to share the lessons we have learned over the decades about wrapping chocolate and increase your knowledge at lightning speed! Whether you are interested in the technical details or want to improve your own wrapping methods, our series will give you valuable insights.
